NEUROMUSCULAR OPTIMIZATION

MUSCLE ACTIVATION
TECHNIQUES®

Advanced muscle therapy for chronic pain, weakness, tightness, compensation, and performance limitations.

ABOUT

WHAT IS MUSCLE ACTIVATION
TECHNIQUES®?

A precise, assessment-based approach to improving muscle function, joint support, and movement quality.

Muscle Activation Techniques® is a specialized neuromuscular assessment and treatment system developed to evaluate how well individual muscles contract and support the joints they influence.

Rather than focusing only on where symptoms are felt, MAT® looks for muscular weaknesses, compensation patterns, and limitations in the body's ability to produce force, stabilize joints, and tolerate movement. When certain muscles are not contracting efficiently, other areas of the body may become overworked, creating tightness, discomfort, reduced mobility, or decreased performance.

Through precise range-of-motion assessments, manual muscle testing, and targeted activation techniques, MAT® helps identify where the muscular system is not functioning optimally. The goal is to improve muscle function, restore better joint support, reduce compensation, and help the body move with greater strength, control, and confidence.

MAT® clinical assessment

THE MAT® APPROACH

OUR 3-STEP ASSESSMENT
& ACTIVATION PROCESS

The MAT® process follows an objective, systematic approach in assessing and treating how the nervous system and muscle system are operating.

01

EVALUATION

Range of Motion Assessment

We begin by identifying limitations in your joint ranges of motion. A restricted range of motion is the first objective indicator of muscular weakness or instability.

02

IDENTIFICATION

Neurological Muscle Testing

Using specific manual tests, we pinpoint exactly which muscles aren't neurologically firing. The objective data allows us to target the root causes of dysfunction.

03

RESTORATION

Precise Muscle Activation

Through precise palpation techniques and re-testing muscle strength, we "jumpstart" the dormant muscles, restoring their full contractility and strength.
